Hello.

I normally VNC into a computer across the country however the VNC is currently frozen and I am unable to communicate with the computer.

I am looking for a device that will allow me to reset the computer remotely without the need for the VNC.

Does anyone know of a device that will do this?

Thanks.

Are using a vpn?

If so, you may be able to do a remote reboot via command line.

shutdown -r -f -m \\Lanipaddress

I do this all the time when rdp or vnc freeze up.

FYI, the shutdown command was only introduced with XP and Server 2003. From an XP or 2003 system, I can shutdown a Windows 2000 system, but not the other way around.
