I have 1 laptop with Vista , 1 with XP Pro and a PC with XP Media Center. I can't acess the Media Center PC from any of the laptops I can't even ping it . I have ran the network wizard , double checked that file sharing is on and all that jazz.I can access both laptops from the Media center PC. Any ideas ?????

Do you run any firewall software (ie. Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc) on that PC?

Firewall software must be set to allow traffic on port 3389 for RDP to work. Also, there should be a setting in there to allow file and printer sharing to pass thru as well.

Steve -
I'm assuming that you have a peer-to-peer network. Microsoft, IMHO, does not do PTP well.I know there are problems with Vista seeing XP computers on the same network but even with XP-XP, I routinely had problems with XP computers popping in and out of the network for no apparent reason. Sometimes I would find that A could see B but B couldn't see A. It never made sense.
Interestingly my Mac sees all the PCs and all the PCs see the Mac. Go figure.
