I have an older Baystack 303 that I'd like to install for my home network. Previous owner (unknown) set a password that I don't know. Is there any way to default this switch so I can get into administration/setup? I've been over the web and can't find anything.

Within the first 60 seconds after booting the switch, type the
following: "tEmpEst_sAvEr". The switch will then prompt user to enter
a new password.

Zane, I found that on the web, but it's not appearing to work. I have Hyperterm (all parameters verified) set to local echo on, but when I try to type "tEmpEst_sAvEr" at boot-up, the text display lags dramatically and doesnt' (seem) to do anything. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried a null modem? Its a pretty old switch. Not a lot of info on it as you know. I think I know someone who has one, so I might try to borrow it. What are you trying to do?
