JpGolan,

Does Paypal still sit on the funds for 7 to 10 days after you deposited the the money?. I had a really big gripe about this practice and stopped using them.

I find that they are available for withdrawal in one day for invoices that are paid. I think the difference may be how you are paid via the client. I also find that if I purchase anything using paypal that my vendors are paid immediately but then again my outbound account is tied to my bank account for immediate payment.
I find that the system works for me best as I bill in US dollars to out of US clients and insist that they pay any exchange rates by paying me in US Dollars, the only fees I pay are the normal paypal fees, which I build into my rates. :thumb:
My business via Paypal is a little different then most communications type work as I rarely visit a site. Most of my work is being a virtual project manager and designer (RCDD). If they insist on a site visit for inspection of work completed I bill out on an hourly/daily/weekly rate plus all expenses.

Jp,

Thanks for the info. I was paid last Friday "second weeks check" First check, the job that I finished on the third of this month, finally arrived.

I wont be sweating bullets now that I can get to the job site not knowing how to fill my tank of gas to get home.

As for getting paid by smaller independent clients, I want to know if it would be a wise idea to have those clients prequalify with credit check before starting on there site for a install? I mainly go though this project management company and other big companies but want to do more local service where there alot of potential to generate more revenue by cutting out the middle man.

It's just the cost of doing business if you want to receive money ASAP. Someone has to make money delivering the cash. Else, why do it?

I've never had issues with Paypal but there is a fee to use the service for business transactions. I believe it's somewhere around 3%.

Jpgolan,

I used paypal a few days ago. Was shocked how fast the payment to the seller was. Did Paypal change there ways from years ago? wow, I had to wait seven days, then the payment would go though to the seller.

Now, does the seller normally pay the fees?
