Hi all...
First post here, and thanks for the good info on this board.
I have a client that has a Premier key system (Intertel is the manufacturer, board maker, etc.). Today one of the phones went out- model 660.7800 (12 BTN w/LCD). The phone, when hooked up, is displaying all the lights with the LCD displaying black boxes.
Do these phones have a eprom that needs to be reflashed? The extension is working, so I know it isn't the ext. port. If the board is toast, does anyone have recommends on where to buy a board?
Also, does anyone know where I can get a full documentation set for the system? Thanks.

IF you never worked on a Premier or programmed a Premier, my advice is to walk away...its a can of worms waiting to be opened.....

Unfortunately, I just can't walk away at this point. I wish I knew a little more about other vendors, having only programmed Norstar Key and DMS-100,250,500 CO systems. I could just swap phones, but I will have to do this some time in the future anyway. Might as well dive in now. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/wink.gif)

1st of all...it programs with a TI silent 700 or any laptop...
If ya never programmed an old Intertel system they r a tricky....hit a wrong key and you wipe out the database...
2nd...was any type of floppy left laying around with any backup on it???if not...the real fun begins...
BUT you shouldnt have to do any major programming...if ya have to you can email me and keep in contact...I dont have a head of grey hair for nothing...
Good Luck....

It's most likely just a bad set. Do the usual, try the set on another port, try a new line cord (they're 6 conductor).
Be aware that the polarity of the 1st pair is REVERSED, either at the jack or at the crossconnects, and it you put it in the "proper" polarity, you will pop a fuse on the station board and take out 6 stations. Also will happen it you accidently short the pair.
Hey, it's not really that bad, like everything else it's what you get to know about it. I got certified on it 17 years ago, just waved "bye-bye" to my last installed one a month ago!

I just wanted to thank all of you. The manuals are helpful (certainly more helpful than the user guide, which is all I have at this point). I will probably get a new set, but I still like to fiddle. The set does the same thing on any of the installed ports. I will watch the polarity on the first set, thanks, if I ever have to install more stations.

We have been repairing those phones for years... our pricing for dealers is available on our web site www.p1bc.com (go to the installers area). Or you can hit me with an e-mail. I would be happy to send you a repair price list.

Speaking of these systems, I am dealing with a customer right now who has one and we are needing to know what the ring length is. We know it has a short double ring, but to program our units to pick up we need to know the length of that short ring. Any help would be wonderful.
