I guess the first thing is determining the system we have. The individual station manuals are all we have for documentation. The Attendant Manual says "Impact 24/48/72 Digital Communications Systems." Some of the numbers on the white sticker on the main unit are JM408, FT5499 and J1632. Many of the phones are (I think) Impact 8024's. I've looked at all the Comdial info on the tel-programmer site and can't find any overlays that match these phones. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I just went to the tel-programmer site and found 8024 overlays?
It was at www.tel-programmer.com/Comdial/comdial_digitech_overlays.htm it was the fourth one down.
Hope this helps

Thanks a million. That is exactly what I need. For some reason my browser was not showing that fourth frame, but I finally got it.

You can also log into the system with a laptop via the serial port located on the side of the ksu. laptop programming is much easier and is menu driven. try logging on.

Thank you. I would much prefer programming with a laptop. Which serial port do I use -- something like Com 1,2,3 or 4? Does the laptop need some special software?

Use com 1. Default should be 9600, 8 n 1. Hyperterm works fine or terminal for those 3.1 users. and of course the old standby Procomm.
