Sorry about the double posting, I sent th first reply anf it didnt show up so I did a second post...... go figure.
You don't have to use centrex but as stated I have tried using just plain pots lines and the customers all had complaints ranging from tying up lines to poor volume complaints,changed them to centrex, no more problems.

In some cases you can get remote call transfer or off premise call transfer, without getting centrex.
