Installed a refurbed DPM8 on the 2nd cabinet of a A33 DX-80. Powered down-did cold start--restored database. Plugged in two phones (ext 133 & 134)in first two ports on card. Came up normal--continue to be normal. Plugged in phone on last port of card--ext 140.
Came up normal but in about 15 min--phone beeped (it was for a jack in the equipment room) and then started to have static sound coming through speaker. At the same time (we were informed later) very many of the existing phones on the first floor had this same loud static noise coming through the speaker. The noise stopped when we unplugged the offending phone/port. We took phone & plugged into another extension (not on the same card) and it came up fine and remained fine. Yesterday we went back and tried the 4th port (ext 136), came up normal--but in 15 min or so---did what happened befor. We are receiving a replacement card--but want to know if anyone else has an idea as to what this is---or might be--besides a bad card.

Actually we've been getting calls about that alot. The problem was alwasys with the phone. The first time it happened Comdial had us send the phone in for repair(it was still under warranty), sent it back and the problem was still there. Replaced with a NEW phone and the problem went away.
Usually I have the customers put the phone in intercom ring mode instead of intercom handsfree mode until I can get there to replace the phone.
