I recently received a DX80 and would like to add a voice mail card to it. While shopping around, I was told that the latest version of the 7271C is due out very soon. ...I was also told that this latest version would only help me if I had a newer DX80. Does anyone know anything about this and how do I determine what version I have?

To determine what version you have; enter system programing, go to system resource, then to KSU version and read the software level of the system.

I assume you are refering to the newer software rev. of VM that uses the backplane to activate the MW lights. It has been out for some time. The DX80 will need to be SW 39 or higher I believe, but I didn't look it up. Depending on the size of your system, this may not be a very important issue.

Welcome to the board, are you an end user or a tech / installer?

I guess I am both... an end user and tech. We picked up this phone system and I have been tasked with getting it running. I normally stick to PCs, networks and such.

Not to be too stupid but I went into system programming (via the handset) but I couldn't find anything about KSU version under the system resource menu.

I took off the cover and found the stickers that said F25... so I guess it doesn't really matter which version I get.

Any chance I can get you to download me a copy of the PCDBA software from comdial's website?

F25 is pretty old software, I'd reccommend you pop those chips and swap them out with F40. Please email me directly or call me, information on my web site or in my profile.
