Comdial dxp system with 13b vmmi software with an impact concierge software version 4b and a small office keyvoice system version 8.2

Is it possible to utilize the current hardware and some how use VOIP as in/out CO line.

Well, when you say VOIP that could really mean a lot of things. If you mean as in using Vonage or something of the like for your dial tone provider....well from what I understand it is just a matter of finding someone that knows wha they are doing and you install in similar to how you would at home, but with more/bigger equipment to supply the "lines."

Be careful. What is your VOIP need? Many people have this idea that it is magically going to give them free long distance or something like that. Really, if you have a DXP you are probobly a larger company/motel/hotel so you should have a T-1/PRI and those have pretty cheap LD in most areas. I am not saying you are one of the mislead people, but I have seen and talked to MANY of them along the way. If you are planning on haveing this replace your regular line service think hard about this. You should have some pretty heavy bandwith to take care of a hotel. Also, VOIP networks go down on a much more common time frame than your copper or T-1 lines do.

Sooooo what is the application and what provider are you planning to use (IE: Vonage, etc.)?

Being that this hotel is in a small town they have a mono, on the phone system. Lines here are expensive local lines are about $80 each. T1 is has disadvantage as to they want to charge for local calls as well as long, due to single phone company. Consolidated. They currently do have access to cable modem. so the plan was to use Vonage or Lingo to connect the 9 CO lines. The hotel has 75 extensions. I have been trying to convince them to use 4 Lingo lines(VOIP) and 4 CO lines. So they have a backup just in case. Use the CO lines for local calls and long for VoIP. I appreicate the input. I really have not thaught about the Bandwidth requirement, so any input will be helpful.

This might get more VOIP-specific responses if it were moved to the VOIP forum. It seems that it's much more pertinent to VOIP than it is to Comdial.
