I am a newbie to the forum and looked over all topics, but did not find anything pertaining to Service Observe or monitoring.
We use the FXII with release 195 ver 17D. We also use Quick Q 5.0 for our small call center. I am looking for ideas on how to allow remote call monitoring. For example, to allow the call center supervisor to still monitor calls on occasion from her home, since some days she will be telecommuting. Can this be accomplished? Through her phone or a dialup connection to FXII or connectivity to Quick-Q? I have seen third party products like OfficeLink Observe, but not sure if it works with Comdial. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Best bet is to have a dealer install a VOIP board and implement I Primo IP set for your call caenter supervisor. It is a full featured IP set that will work on your network or at your teleworkers home on a high speed connection. Service observe would be usuable with that set up. Welcome to the forum.

Well thanks for the suggestion RFB!
I almost posted this in the VOIP board, but my bosses( yes more than one) are hesitant about VOIP- cannot even get them to dip a toe in.. but they are concerned about the effect on our data network, which connects two branchs- so we share alot. We are firewalled but our IT guy is unfamililar with VOIP so I'm going over things like compression ,voice packets, internet pipes..things I myself are just learning about, to try an convice him.
I agree the VOIP board and IPrimo would be best and painless way to go, but i am looking for more alternatives...painful as they may be:)
thanx for the welcome!

You should be able to use DISA function to access the service observe function but it will also take an analog co port and a spare ist to get it set up.

This is really a very complicated setup, I suggest you get your local Comdial vendor involved to do it this way.

Thanks BIGDOG3c!
well my local Comdial, was suggesting VOIP as the only possibility. Of course my bosses wanted to know of any alternatives or even third party additions. So I must pursue it.
So we msut designate a co port and a extention for the supervisoer to call in on as a DISA call, i can specify DVA msgs to allow her to remember how to get to Service Obs and to get specify which extentions to monitor.

Has anyone heard of the OfficeLink Observe product and how well in performs?

I am going to inquire with my local Comdial about the DISA option and what it would require. any pointers?

thanks
