Generally you get what you pay for. Some phone systems have a 5-7 year phase out. Other systems will last forever if you keep them current in software and upgrades. I have to agree service is everything and checking references is key. No matter what the equipment you will need decent service. On a side note, this is totally IMHO don't buy ugly phones. If you are going to have the system in for years don't saddle yourself with ugly phones.
