I have a comdial DXP, feature set 16a. The problem I am having is that if a user hesitates for just a second or two while dialing out, hey get a message telling them the number cannot be completed as dialed. They practically need to have the number memeorized and dial it without error to complete the call.

Is this a switch problem, or a problem with our PRI?

TIA!

It's your timers in the DXP for the ARS programming.

Thanks, but I am not sure where to find that. Under Programming|Tool/ARS... I have three options: Restriction Tables, Route Tables, and Modify Digit Tables...

You won't find it under ARS. It's under timing.

This will happen if you are not using ARS as well. You need to program ARS if it is not already set up.

I don't think I am - I modifed some of the timing parameters and matched them to another Comdial switch that is not having any issues and it didn't change anything.

You are going to have to use ARS if you have PRI.
The ARS hold the digits as you dial them (it does not hold the pauses in dialing)and then releases the digits at one time.

I found that out, and no matter what I do in timers, it doesn't change anything. The user sees little "p"s accross the display if they take any longer than necessary when dialing out.

That's because you have ARS dialing pause turned on. Turn that off. Do you have ARS built and turned on?
