I set up a mail box in DX80 flash VM to transfer to outside phone so the caller could reach outside party via their cell phone. The call gets bridged with the cell but volume is cut back so much you can barely hear the caller. Tech support had me check chip on processor for U20 it was OK. Any possibility to bridge the call via the phone company. I can do it on the line with test set with a flash dial cell number then another flash. Any possibility to duplicate this sequence with the VM? (When I do it with test set I have to stay on the call or it disconnects both ends....) thanks

I have yet to do this on a DX-80 flash VM. I think the subject has been discussed in this forum--but I seem to recall that there were few positive answers.
I have, however, done alot of setting up External Call Forwarding on the system extension itself. That works pretty slick and almost 100%.
When a call is transfered (either by a person or by the AA)--the call rings the extension and the call is immediately sent to the cell phone--where the call is answered or goes into the cell phones' VM after 4 rings.
Perhaps someone who has done what you are trying to do will jump in here and tell us how they did it. Good Luck.

We've setup "Centrex" transfers (via phone co. feature) on the DX80 VM before. It works great, once you get the parameters setup properly in VM. Of course you would have to order this feature from the phone company.
Beware if you are in Verizon territory (at least this is now true in our Verizon area). When you order Centranet (Verizon Centrex) on a line, you must now specify that you want the ability to transfer outside of your local C.O. Otherwise, transfers will only work to local numbers. We recently ran across this when transfers were dropping when the Centranet subscriber disconnected to attempt to complete the transfer. We eventually figured out that this was the case, and had Verizon make the change to the service. The next time another customer ordered it, we tested, and the same was true. I'm not aware of AT&T doing anything like this (local-only transfers). So far it's only been Verizon.

I tried again today to set it up using Bell South. Still having problems of the call being dropped when VM hangs up. Comdial tech support tried about every dial string and transfer sequence they know and still won't work. Will try checking to see if Bell has local transfer only on that feature.....

If it happens with your buttset too, it has nothing to do with the voicemail. In addition to what I mentioned in my last post, I've also seen where the Centrex/Centranet transfers simply don't work. They work fine as conference calls, but as soon as you try to back out, it kills the whole thing. A call to repair usually ends up getting it working.

I have set three phones on a DX80 to do CFOS, and the system has a DX80 VM. When the guy leaves his desk, they Ext CFW their phone to their cell. These guys are outside sales people that are on the road 4 days a week. We did have a problem with sometimes not disconnecting when they were done, so I set the timer to I believe 10 minutes. They have gotten into the habit of getting the caller's number at the beginning of the call so that if the timer times out or something else happens, they can then call them back.
I did question them a couple weeks after we set this up, how the volume was on a trunk-to-trunk, and the reply was pretty good. Not as good as calling direct, but very livable.
