Hello Everyone,

I am looking to output the phone log data from my DX-80 to a PC. 1st is there a way to do this and 2nd if so does anyone offer software to make this data easy to view. I need to output log on how many calls and how long my sales staff is on the phone. The more detail I can get the better.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The DX80 does have a Station Messaging and Detail Reporting or SMDR function. The raw data is usable and call accounting software is available. The raw data is in serial format but can converted for use on an ethernet network.

You would hook a cable to the SMDR output on the CPM and set the baud rate, parity, etc. There are many call accounting packages that will do what you are asking for. I prefer Tapit from Trisys.

So if I understand correctly with software like Tapit can I just hook up the DX-80 to my pc with the serial connection and run the software?

Also what does it take to convert the serial connection to ethernet. Ethernet would be nice becuase the DX-80 is right next to my 40 port switch. Then I am guessing I can connect and pull the data from any pc?

Thanks for the help guys.

A serial to ethernet converter would do.

Sounds good I will look into the serial to ethernet converter and tapit software. Thanks again for your help.
