Hi, I am new to the forum and was extremely excited that I have found this site because it has helped answer a lot of questions.
I have just started a new job as an office manager for a government agency and we have the Comdial DX-80 phone system with flash drive voicemail.
The way the phone system is currently set up, I basically answer the phone all day and hand write messages. This does not leave me time to perform my other duties. I have had a technician out here several times as I would like to set up the automatic attendant to automatically answer and route the calls where they need to go.
The problem lies in the voicemail notification-alerting signal that does two short rings. I read in a previous post that this cannot be disabled. However, we perform serious counseling sessions at this office and the counselors cannot be interrupted with the alerting signal while they are in session even if they are in DND mode.
My technician cannot seem to find a way to turn this feature off either. Does anyone know if the DOS code or text can be changed to turn this off in the Key Voice Voicemail?
Any help to try to resolve this problem would make my life and my fellow co-workers lives so much easier. I greatly appreciate any help or advice. Thank you! :-)

This is the only way. In the voicemail options menu for each extension is a "call transfer feature" if you turn this feature off, all calls go directly to the mailbox greeting, turn it back on and they ring the extension and provide the 2 beeps.
Access mailbox, dial password, press 3 for options, 4 for call transfer, press * (star) to turn off. When you want it back to normal, repeat the procedure. Mark

Turn the ringer off! Two or three taps on the volume control!

I tested that, it doesn't stop the two short rings when the call hits your greeting. It was the first thing I thought of too. Mark

That feature works, I tested it here. You are doing something wrong. After you press star, it will say "calls are being transferred to Voice Mail" and it will not ring. When it says "Calls are being transferred to extension xxx" it will ring.
you can get a database manual, but it will be of little use to you. There is nothing in the telephone database that will help. This is a voicemail feature your working with. Mark

you might have something there. My test was through the auto attendant not a live transfer. you could simulate an AA Transfer, while you have the party on the line, press the voicemail button and then when the main greeting starts, dial the extension number and hang up. Do this with the transfer feature set to voicemail. I can't test it because I'm at home preparing to leave for vacation in an hour or so. Mark

Is this the Voicemail Monitor that is being referred to? Voicemail Monitor is where you get a ring burst to notify you that someone is in your mailbox leaving a message, and allows you options on your phone for listen/pickup. On the DX80/120, it actually does the ring burst when the greeting starts playing, where on other Comdial systems it doesn't do the ring burst until the "beep" for actually leaving the message. I'm just wondering if this is what the complaint is about. Also, is this a duplicate thread to this one ?
