I am looking for a decent used butt set, I don't do enough work, most of which is free or personal, to warrant the purchase of a new one. So if anyone has something they are willing to part with pleas PM me with model and price.

** Note, not taking work away from qualified installers laugh I just tinker a little and mainly need to see if there is DT when something isn't working. Not to mention I've wanted one since I was a little boy wink

Actually I had my chance to own two of the finest quality butt sets that our LEC uses, one left behind at my business and another found along the side of the road. .... some people find pennies...... Being the good scout I am, I pounded on the back door of the C.O. and returned them however.

TIA Jeff

The same could be said for anything posted in "Buy/Sell Telephone Equipment" section.

I don't like e-bay, thanks for the suggestion however.

Seems like I've seen pretty cheap Harris butt sets at Home Depot. You might get lucky and find someone on here willing to part with one.

1. Just use any old one-piece phone with the flash hook built in. You can crimp an RJ-ll plug onto two old alligator clips and add an RJ-11 coupler from the dollar store.

2. try e-bay.

You may also try the pawn shops. Most of the older butt-sets last forever, so you may be hard pressed to find one from an active installer.
