Guys -

I'm looking for a couple of Stand Alone CID boxes - but ones that will support CID on Call Waiting (aka visual call waiting, aka type 2 cid).

Thanks,

Sam

I would think you could get those at Radio Shack or Wally Work Sam. They usually say CID and CID call waiting on them. I know most phones you buy now have both.

I have not seen a standalone box sold in the retail stores in years.

I was just looking on the internet and the only manufacturer of boxes I know of -cidco- does not have an internet site anymore. They use to show a Mod DB99-01 caller id/call waiting unit.

I found this one for sale on Amazon and it looks like it might do what you want but for the same price you can probably to to Staples and buy a complete phone for the same price with call waiting display.

I think Sam wants to use the stand-alone Caller ID/Call Waiting ID boxes in conjunction with his 1A2 system.

PM sent.

I don't think anyone sells the standalone boxes anymore (Radio Shack and Staples don't and I'm unfamiliar with Wally Work). I could hunt around, but I'd rather spend my money on the board if I can.

Yea, the choices are getting slim.

Thanks to all!

Sorry Sam fat fingers, Wally World as in WalMart. I guess I haven't looked for them in a long time so wasn't aware no one carried them anymore. I'll make it a point to look tomorrow, the Radio Shack here has lots of "back room" stuff. I'll let you know if they have one.

No Walmarts here in the Apple. That's why it didn't sound familiar.

Wow, one place there is no Wal-Mart laugh
Sam, I know I have at least one of everything in my 'dreaded basement' but unfortunately no CID boxes...all of my phones have CID built in these days.

Sam, surely there's a WM in 'joisey' close to you. smile

Or, maybe not. They like to buy cheap land on the edge of town with their real estate company and then lease it to themselves. 'Cheap land' and 'joisey'/'nuyawk' are probably contradictory expressions. frown
