When someon dials my extension in the office they get a busy tone.

I have tried this from the phone next to me to confirm. Someone should be able to press the INTERCOM button, dial my extension, and I should be able to hear them over the speaker phone.

All I see is the intercom button flash orange for a quick second and the call disappears. Check to see if DND was set, but it appears not to be.

This problem started to occur when I moved my phone set and extension to a new cube.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You

hi, i'm a novice here but i'm gonna give it a try... if your phone worked in its original location , then i'd assume that the common equip was working and programed ok. i would suspect the hard wiring, unless the cube location itself has worked properly with another phone. i'm thinking a missplaced wire or swapped pairs at the m-block or jack.

Try intercom then # then 2 from your phone. if that does not work give us a little more info about your phone system (type, phone model ect.)

Thanks so much for the quick respose. The intercom then # then 2 worked!

What does that actually turn on/off?

Voice announce block is activated on your phone when you dial ITCM * 2 and ICM # 2 turns it off, allowing voice announced intercom calls again.

Your system is set up for voice announce when dialing phone to phone. Your phone had voice announce block enabled and you just entered the unblock code.

Excellent. Thank you very much for the responses.

Could I have inadvertently set this or would moving the handset and the wiring caused this to be enabled?

I initially did not move my handset and just the wires. When I realized that this was happening, I moved my handset a few days later and the problem still existed.

Did you end up with the same extension after the move? If not, I would say that the extension you moved to already had Voice Announce Block enabled before you got there.
