Does anyone know if we can program park buttons on a dx-120 like we can on an FXII?

If I remember right you can only program one park button and the parking sequence and retrieval is fairly complicated for some receptionists and users.

We use the hold button for park purposes and skip the first line port. 801 is line 1, 802 is line 2, etc... The recept keeps track of the line number before she holds the call and relays the correct 80x number.

This would be with a PRI and I've only sold DX-120's with POTS lines in the past so I'm not sure how we would handle multiple calls that would need to be parked in a busy office. It is so easy with the FXII and MP5000 and I was hoping we could do something very similar to that. If we can only have one park button then the DX system is not a good fit .

TECOM refuses to put park keys on any of their systems. If more of us would pressure Vertical on this issue we might be able to see multiple park keys as a future option.

I refrain from selling this system if I have a large number of trunks for this very reason.

We ran into this problem with a customer that insisted to be able to hold and pickup calls so I put line appearances of the first 12 trunks of the pri and it worked out ok.

Tecom has not refused to put park keys on their systems. We have it on the Tadiran ICE. You use the feature by pressing the park key then dialing the park location. User's retrieve the park by hitting the blinking park key.

What Deltron inferred was Tecom would not put multiple park keys on their systems...the FXII and MP5000 was used in the first example. You could do visual call parks on sets on those systems. Most of our FX/MP installs had park 1-6 mapped under buttons making parking and retrieving a breeze.

I wasn't real clear about what I consider park keys. Let's say I program 4 park keys. Park 1, Park 2, Park 3 and Park 4. I'm on a call and push say Park 2. Park 2 lights up on all telephones. To retrieve the call I press a key like * or # plus the Park 2 key.

The Tadarin ICE works exactly like other TECOMs in this respect. With heavy traffic literally nobody can keep track of park locations. If a location is in use you cannot place another call there.

On the DX-120 you could theoretically have 40 lines. There is no way to efficiently do this on this system. Vertical's Vodavi branded systems can easily deal with 100+ lines with multiple loop keys and multiple visual park keys.

This is costing Vertical sales.

I agree. When I installed a DX120 with PRI, this was a MAJOR issue. It was a partial PRI, so it was easy enough to map. Still, mapped Park keys would have been SO much nicer for them. I've also had some systems without PRI, with up to 16 analog lines, where mapped Park keys would have been nice. Vertical really should fix this. Their "Park" button started off VERY unusable in the original DX80. IMHO, they didn't go far enough when they fixed that "little" problem, and that would have been the time to do it. It's not too late!
