I am considering using VoIP technology to provide for off premise extensions from a DXP. In this application, this will essentually be a private telephone network, but with some capability for the off premise extensions to receive only PSTN calls answered at the main office and transfered over Voip channels to the respective extensions. Has anyone had any experience with this type of application? I have available 24 Centile MH-16 (16 port media gateway) VoIP Hubs for use at the off premise end. I am questioning what my needs will be for the hosting (DXP) side. Since these VoIP channels will be a dedicated point to point connection I dont think I will need a SIP server? Any Ideas?

The only thing we do is Linksys units on the DX8-/120 analog ports.

You can use Asterisk to bridge between the VOIP and Comdial, I've done it with some success. Certain things work better than others but the cool part of Asterisk is that you have full control to send whatever digits/hookflashes/etc to the Comdial to better integrate it.

I set a block of analog (ist) ports as vmail seperate from the voicemail system, so that the system can send digits to Asterisk to treat the IST ports as trunks so to speak.
