We've got a 120 with a 7243 hard drive VM too, but it's in our shop being used as a test KSU.
I don't think we would ever install a HD 7243 at a customers' place of business---just because I don't want a multi-year old hard drive out there that I might have problems with---however---ours is one of the first ones we ever purchased and is still humming along.
I can't remember any problems that we had when we first "married" the two---they've been in our shop for about two years now. We upgraded the DX120 to F20 here about 2 months ago or so.

The vmail would not do a blind transfer to the station. It also would not send the correct message waiting. It would do a statiion call back in the screen for the port that would call the phone. I also noticed that when I tried to setup a UCD group for ringing stations and sent the data it would say illegal member for 433? When I didnt send that part it worked great.

I have one out there and its always giving the customer issues. It pretty often will come up as no legal member in 433 when you press the Voicemail Key. Rebooting it clears it but it seems to happen at least once a week. I can understand that they didnt want to replace a 3 year voicemail but they upgraded to the 120 for PRI ability.

Can you upgrade the 7243 with the firmware on Vertical's site? I have an one running in a DX120 that every other day will stop responding. Pressing the Vmail button results in a RNA, but the extensions ring busy when I dial them individually. If I log into it using Keylink, all the port show as idle. Either rebooting the cabinet or exiting to c:\vm and restarting the program will clear this issue, but it always comes back.
