I have a customer who has a DX-80.

I recently purchased a refurbished 7260 00 HAC, the phone will initially work, but after a few minutes, the buttons do not respond when pressed, but the line status stays current.

This will reset itself if you unplug the line cord and plug back in and work correctly for a few minutes then quits.

So I thought I purchased a defective phone, until... I received my advance replacement, which this phone did the exact same. Is there anything that Im missing here?

Please help, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You tried this at the system and you tried a different port?

I have not yet tried the phone at the ksu. But we tried another phone (already existing on site)at that ext and it works fine (which eliminates wiring and programming).

I find it hard to believe that 2 different refurbished phones would have the exact same problem at different extensions.

Do these phones hold any programming? I.E.: If i move ext 10 to ext 15, does the ext number stay the same or would the phone carry its previous ext number with it?

Thanks!

The phones are dumb terminals. Did you try the sets that fail at a known working location?

What timing, I was actually searching for this very problem. 2 different sets, both original edge 120 v47's. Tested at multiple working locations as well as directly at box. Another set worked fine at port these do not. One stopped working after a software upgrade to v20 last night and worked great prior to that. Same result with same phones even at test system in office. However, 1 did restart just a bit ago after about an hour plugged into the system. The other still no joy, but it will do the hidden mode version check when plugging in.
Thanks for all the posts , they have been very helpful and I usualy do find an answer here.

BTW did find that the plastic desi cover does make buttons stick at times and is hard to see just looking at it

These sets were tried at a know working location. The sales manager wanted the "new" phone at their desk.
