I have a Comdial DXP system, release 162, feature set 14A. The way the system is currently set up when somebody calls any of our lines a secretary answers the phone, or after 4-5 rings it goes to an automated attendant. Is there a way I can set 1 line to go directly to automated attendant without going through the secretary?

I've looked all through the VMMI, and I cannot figure out where to change this. Could you point me to the right place please?

Your voice mail ports are station ports. Look under the programming for the first voice mail port. You'll find your ringing assignments there. If you rarely use VMMI I HIGHLY recommend doing a database backup in case you need to recover from a serious program error.

I have tried adding the line(5) to the direct ring on table and removing it from the delayed ring table under the ringing assignments for the first voice mail port.(400) I also tried adding line 5 to the direct ring table under enhanced ringing, although no other options seem to be set there. These options didn't work although it seems I was in the right place. Any more advice is much appreciated, thanks.

Yes changes were applied, I actually clicked apply several times to make sure. I'm wondering if there is another change that I need to make as well under "line programming," or somewhere else?

Are you sure you're dealing with line 5?

Yes, I can even see the light for line 5 light up on my phone when I try dialing it from my cell phone to test it.

Do you have actual lines or a PRI?
