Customer has FXII 96 with 8 port KeyVoice PC 10.3.

They had been able to record calls using softkey on 8324 sets. At some point they had serial port damage from storm. serial link is working.

Now when they attempt to record call, on vm viewer, outbound port opens and says "dialing" followed seconds later with "recording". At the time "recording" comes up on the viewer "unavailable" comes up in the keyset display. The port stays open with "recording".

The error log shows Error-11501 "Could not find comport for CSTA/Siemens" (which I could not find in my manual)

Have both the serial port on the FXII and the voice mail been changed. Both would most likely be damaged due to lightning.

Sounds like you have the wrong VM.cfg file if your getting this error. The COM error refers to something you are not using if your on an FX. Has nothing to do with recording calls.
Recording calls uses service observe. Is VM allowed to do this in the PBX COS? Is the extension observable?

Edit to remove VM.CFG changes. Please do not post this type of information in the open forum.
