Pardon my ignorance of Samsung switches, but have inherited the care & feeding of this one. Some, but not all of the stations have suddenly quit ringing. How do I access the programming to put them in an active group or re-enable ringing?

If they were in the ring group before then they may have logged out of the group.
First you need to know what group it is then you can try this
53XXX where XXX is the group. Type in a 1 for in group or 0 for out of group after the 53XXX.This is done on a per station basis but the rule is that the station must be a member of the group in mmc 600 (for the operator 500 group)or mmc 601 (for groups 501-529)

Thanks,
I found that those stations are members of a group "01" and I could not get the 53xxx to respond. In what mode or program ID do I enter the "53xxx"?

If they are already a member of group 501 then you would dial 535011 to get them back into the group(logged in).You dial this from intercom dialtone or just dial it from an idle handset without lifting the handset.

OK, we dialed 535011 on each of the non ringing stations and the display screen read "1" but they still don't ring with incoming calls.
do we need to check line assignment or ring enable?

Well sure you can check the ringing assignment im mmc 406 and see what it's set to.Then check out the group as described above and see if the stations are members of the group. If not add them in as members to the group.
Maybe your group numbers have been changed from default?Because on a default system if you dial 53501 you should see on the display group status
IN OUT
The fianl number 1 being pressed is equivalent to hitting the IN key.

If you dial 53501 and get a 1 on the display then after 5350 the system is saying the 50 is not right. To test that out dial the digits 53501 1 ata time and watch the display.I bet your getting an invalid number screen after the 4th digit.Your station group plans are not default then. You said the ringing was to 01.Under defualt numbering it would be 501 not 01.Check mmc 601 and see waht the first group in there in numbered as.Then dail 53 +that number +1.
