I was working on our system this weekend, (installed second MGI card in C3)
(shutdown process: logged into svmi, shutdown, halted systems, powered down from c1,c2,c3) After turning the system back up, it no longer would see any extensions on a 16DLI in C1:S4, I tried reseting via 806, swapping with another 16dli in S5, replacing, you name it, no matter what I did, it would no longer see the Extensions on the DLI, all ports rang "Plug Out" I then moved the card to a spare slot in C3, and re-numbered the ports, via the dial number plan (724), they are now working, but now, it appears one of the ports still repoting "Plug Out". (Maybe another reset will fix, will do on off-time) If I place a 8 DLI in the old slot, it works, and see the extensions, but if an 16 DLI is in it,all of the extensions report "Plug Out".. C1 Slot Configuration: C1:S1: TRK C1 [8trk] C1:S2: TRK C1 [8trk] C1:S3: TRK C1 [8trk] C1:S4: NO EMPTY (WAS 16 DLI) C1:S5: 16 DLI using P:B[16] C1:S6: 8 DLI using P:1[16] C1:S7: 8 DLI using P:B[16] C1:S8: 8 DLI using P:1[16] C1:S9: SCP 2 [OP1 = SCM, OP2=MISC, OP3=EMPTY] C1:S10: MCP 2 C2:S1: TRKC1 C2:S2: TRKC1 C2:S3: TRKC1 C2:S4: DLI C2:S5: DLI C2:S6: DLI C2:S7: DLI C2:S8: DLI C2:S9: sVMI-8 C2:S10: LCP2 C3:S1: T1 Card C3:S2: T1 Card C3:S3: 8DLI C3:S4: (16DLI FROM C1:S4) C3:S5: 16SLI C3:S6: MGI2 C3:S7: MGI2 C3:S8: AA C3:S9: AA C3:S10:LCP2 Note: All Cabinets have both a PSU-B, and PSU-60B Installed.
First noticed problem with C1:S4 and C1:S6 both the first two DLI cards in the Cabinet that are on PSU-B.. (C1:S5 would get power from PSU-60B) Is it possible the PSU-B is getting week? I didn't notice any "Power" Supply Issues in 806...
This system has been online for well over a year, without any issues..

A power supply was my first thought as well especially whren you said that an 8DLI card worked ok.Try swapping the suspected power supply with another cabinets to rule it out.

Yeah, The more I think about it, I swapped the PSU-60B, but relized that those "Suspected" cards are on the PSU-B..
And even though the 8DLI uses the same amount of power [SEPU] units as the 16DLI, the port / 66block configuration is diffenent, so it would not recieve the extra load of the extensions on the card, also, I can remember that i have had other "Mishaps" on this cabinets with other Extenstions.. It maybe a faulty/intermittant PSU-B, I will swap with the one in C3 next weekend, or during the week after closing, to determine if that is the problem..
Also, For all you who want to remote monitor a Svmi-8, and don't want to upgrade to an Svmi-8e, purchase a Stireplay Telnet for $80.00 and it will allow full remote addministration of the SVMI-8 Box.
Also, ITP phones make for a great way to administer systems off site when the bandwith is not available for PCMMC.
Also... I have a lot of programming experience with this system, I have setup a remote idcs over a p2p using ip trunking, and getting ready to drop 10 itp phones off on another site.
dzimmer another user here, works in the ordering department which processes all our stores.. I handle all corporate telco, and telco networking.. So Far, I am pleased with Samsung, Now if they would just RELEASE OPENTSP!!!!!!!!!! :-)
ok, the last 3 paragraphs should belong in sep posts :-)
----- Will update if it is the PSU.

I have noticed on multipal 500 sites that sometimes even though it start's out o.k. that they just don't like a psu60 as the second power supply. I have had to replace the psu60's with psub's on about half the sites that I tried to use 60's.

Yeah, But I suspect the PSU-B, as, both the cards I had a "Glitch" width, are grabbing power from the First PSU, and I also swapped the PSU-60B, to no-avail. But didn't think of swapping the PSU-B.. Will do this weekend. Hopefully Its just the PSU going south for the summer.

My samsung rep tells me that the psu60 is not compatible with the dcs500 r2. That might be an issue there. The PSUB is the only power supply he tells us we can put in and have samsung support. Lately we have been getting some goofy power problems but generally adding another power supply makes them go away.
Did you check the CX cables on those two cards? Its the last thing you think to check and especially when moving the system or changing cards you can get burnt on that.
When I was 8 yrs old my parents had me making CX and PX Cables by hand. Phones are in my blood.

Well, We have had the PSU-60B in for over a year, (we upgraded to REL2 in May 2004) and never had an issue, I added a Card in Cabinet 3, which had absoulutley nothing to do with Cabinet 1..
Most likely it is a defective PSU-B in Cabinet #1.. But, Since the system is up for now, I am not touching it.

Sry, my mind slipped on that one. I was thinking of the psu40. The psu60 is supposed to work fine in the second slot of the cabinet. I think you are right about it being the PSUB.
