Hi.
I have a simple question. How do I assign an extension number to a port? There is a new install that want everyone's extension to be exactly the same as the old phone system.
Does anyone know which MMC is used for this?
Thanks.

If it's a digital system then you do it in mmc 724.

Be very carefull doing this. When asked, I discourage it. As a compromise, a few times I have matched the last two numbers of their new three digit extension with thier old one. For example, if they had a Partner, I can assign them 210 through whatever (instead of 201). Anything but 200 and 300 series extension numbering will give you grief. Good luck.

I disagree with that.Last week I put in a iDCS100 replacing an Executone with 3001-3020 extension numbers.I redid all the extensions in mmc724 before I put the voicemail system in and then did a download from the switch to the SVMi4E.Seems to work flawlessly with no problems.

Easiest way is to write it all out.. make an excel spreadsheet going from 100 to 1000 then write in the assignments as you plan it out.
When I was 8 yrs old my parents had me making CX and PX Cables by hand. Phones are in my blood.
