Have a phone in the office (smasung DCS LCD 12B) that seems to be stuck in a test loop pattern. It ends saying V 2.1. It does a LCD test Ring test and communication test. Who do I get it out of this loop and to operate normally? Thanks.

The self test is entered by pressing the # key so I would make sure your # key isn't sticking. It should exit the self test though by pressing the # key and cycling through the different self tests.

The thing just keep going back into the self test. I tried another phone on the same line and get the same results. You just keep pressing the # sign and round and round she goes!

I've seen this fault a few times, usually caused by a contact fault in the wiring or frame. ie, 1 extension's wiring is touching the wiring to the faulty phone.

I looked at the block where the wires are punched down to and I can't decipher where that extension goes to. Of course I don't have a toner to trace it because I no longer do such work. The wire disappears into the wall, not a jack. I can't win.
