Hello.

I was reading that the caller ID will soon be available for the IDCS 500 system. Does anyone know when they will be available?

I know for sure that:

1. Comdial
2. ESI
3. NEC-Nitsuko
and probably most of the others.

For some reason, Samsung does not have this basic feature but I heard that was going to change.

I was just wondering if anyone had a time frame on when the new SLI cards(or software) would be out in order to make this available?

Thanks.

It will be with a new RCM2 card and will be compatible with all rel2 500's. We were told it would be soon possibly September. The new rel2 100's are now available and they have it through the new MISC3 or MICS4 cards.

It should be available now!
I'm not sure though you may have to have a new software version to support it.

Is it certain that you will need release 2 in order to support the new SLI card with Caller ID ability?

Is is possible that the Caller ID SLI card might work on release 1?

Thanks.

Its called the RCM2 card.As for all I can say is that it is on my April 2005 price list from Samsung. If you can access the B2B site look at the tech bulletins.
Heres the part number
KP500DBRC2/XAR
And at least here in Canada its the same price as the old RCM card. Can't beat that.

I thought the RCM was to provide caller ID for analog trunks from your phone company and would not apply to a PRI line? I was under the impression that the issue was with the SLI card itself missing something that would pass along the numbers the way the DLI cards did.

I heard that Samsung finally got caller ID on the SLI extensions on an older system. Does anyone have any information on how they accomplished that?

Thanks.

What needs to be done is to regenerate the fsk signalling and send it to the sli ports.Thats what the RCM2 card for the 500,the Misc 3/4 for the 100 and the SIO3 card for the 616 do.

Hello.

The big question is if the " RCM2" card will work on a iDCS 500 Release 1 system or do you have to spend a fortune to upgrade to release 2 just for this 1 feature?

Thanks.

Well I was looking through the documentation we got from the new products launch and I'm pretty sure you are talking release 2 only. There is a parameter in mmc300 cid to slt which I bet you won't find in a release 1 system.
