I guess wire gauge will also determine the loop limit.Haven't really experimented with long runs what about tying some wirre boxes together to simulate a longer run?

probably will try that tomorrow on an existing cabinet.

just thought someone might have already been thru this.

i'm guessing it's about 5000' or so to the farthest cabin at this place.

We put a system in a resort and had to use long loop adapters. But the message waiting lights will not work with the adapters. But 3000 ft of 24ga. wire should be no problem without long loop adapters.

Not sure about Samsung, but Toshiba uses the second pair for power (when required). I've heard of people using cat5 cable, tying blue/white & white/blue as one wire, same for other pairs, to make it a 4 wire cable and have it work at well over a mile. Toshiba says 1000' max loop length. I would think if you use bigger gauge wire like 20 or 22 it would get more voltage to the phone on long runs. I guess you could try it and find out.
