Hello.

I had no idea Samsung had so many different systems to look at.

I have some general questions about the Samsung 50si.

1. Is the 50si, DCS compact, idcs 100 all almost exactly the same?

They all have 3 expansion slots with 8 DLI built in and a smaller expansion side cabinet.

2. Does all 50si systems have Caller ID or do you need special software/hardware.

3. Does the 50si share any parts with any other systems such as the DCS compact/idcs 100,etc?

I realized the idcs 500 and DCS can use the exact same low density cards.

Thanks.

I hope this aint gonna turn into a 50 post forum here.......

How many phone system brands are you gonna question us to death about......

Wouldnt it better to call in 3 local vendors in your area and have them give you a sales presentation, then you can question them about your requirements....

You already sent one of our forum members to the funny farm cause he had a breakdown from the 47 times you asked question after question after question after question........

I agree with groundstart you need to contact vendors in your area and have them explain it all.

I doubt you are listening to what we say anyway.

If you have a 500 at the office upgrade it and buy and itp phone and set broadband up at this vacation home you are trying to connect. Buy and intercom system and be done.

We can only explain so much to you about a system and when we do you just jump subjects and questions........so like was said prior to me by several on the board call a vendor its free and you will get faster more comprehensive results

Sarge,
I kind of have to agree with some of the above comments. You can't decide exactly what you want
one day its caller id to analog the next it's voip and networking. You really do need to sit down face to face with a dealer and let them explain all the options pros and cons to the different systems and then decide which is the best way to go.

You might want to consider a 1A2 - solid as a rock!

Yeah I know what you mean.

Too bad there is not a comparison matrix or something. All these systems have so many quirks dealing with caller ID(or lack of), its impossible to keep track.

Its like System A has caller ID but only if you have an expansion cabinet card(A1)model. "version-1" trunk card and have software greater then 3.54. etc....

System B has completely condition that must be met in order to get caller ID.

Its not exactly common sense here.

Don't worry about it, I'll try to figure it out.

I apologize but this is really confusing.

Does the 50si require a misc card for caller ID?

If you want, you can answer with a simple

yes or no.

If you don't want to answer, then thats ok too.

Thanks.

The 50si has been manufactured discontinued for many years. You can't buy one new. Don't think about buying one used. Don't think about the 50si, erase it from your mind. Repeat after me, the 50si does not exist, the 50si does not exist, the 50si does not exist, the 50si does not exist, the 50si does not exist.

If you just gave us your address and phone number, I am sure we could have many of our competitors come visit you and help you select the best one line system for your home.
