Yes, the SVMI 4 has auto attendant. Unless you are using UCD groups are you are concerned about having enough ports there is no reason to have an AA over a SVMI.

Just FYI, one of the features of the "e" series is the forward trunk table which would allow you to make an entry like "500 go to menu Day Main" which would keep the voicemail from looking at the extension block and route the call directly to the day main menu. Even if there was a mailbox or extension 500, the system would not search for it because of the routing statement that you put in!
Both systems do offer dial-by-name directories. Yes, with the “e†series and a little customization you could offer callers an option to ring the extension or go directly to voicemail. It is not a default feature, but would be considered an application. With the added flexibility of the “e†series you can design and implement many customized features like that.
“What about "Network mailboxes", I guess this is transferring an internal message?â€
Both the SVMI 4 and 4e give you the ability to transfer messages between mailboxes in one system. If you hade multiple voicemails on the same network, net mailboxes would give you the ability to transfer a message from one SVMI to another SVMI. As mentioned by Wayne, this feature is only available on the SVMI 8e and above.
“To be honest, I going to have a lot of people leaving messages in order to kind of screen my calls.â€
The SVMI “e†also has call screening built in. This would prompt the caller for his name and then announce the call to you over your key set or cell phone. You would then have the option to take the call or send it to voicemail.
