We are adding a 2x4 DLI card into a DCS compact system into the exp 3 slot, the phone comes up with only the version number (v2.1). The phone works at other locations but not on the new card/port. I don't see anything in programming to assign a card or phone, I must be missing something or is the software cartridge need to be expanded. Thanks.

Use MMC 806 to add the card and MMC 724 for the dial plan.

In 724 you use the volume down to stations, right button under screen to go to the first port and then volume button up to where there are no extension numbers. Assign unused extension numbers and voila.

Thanks will try today, we have a spare system in the office, and in MMC 806 it doesn't show the cabinet/slot info like the manual says. I defaulted system and it comes up with the 2x4 cards already assigned even though the slots were empty. Also would the phone not function until it has an extension assigned?

I don't think the phone will work until you assign extensions in MMC 724, but I am not sure until I test it. You will need to have a call key programmed before you can send or recieve intercom calls and line calls if you don't have a line key. Default will give you two calls keys. Dialing 701 should give you line one.

The display seems to stay locked on the V2.2 and never switches to normal. We swapped cards/phones, etc. it seems as though the slot is bad on the KSU, It shows all extensions assigned numbers in 724. 2xx, and 3xx numbering. I guess I could try swapping out cabinet unless you have any other suggestions.

If you defaulted the system and the 2X4 cards still showed up without cards in the slots I would say the system did not default.Did the time change to Jan.1? Phones will not work until they have an extension number assigned to them in 724. If you add a card then you must add the new extension numbers. They do not get assigned for you unless you default the system. You said you saw the 2X4 cards after you did a default. How many 2X4 cards are there in the system? You should see extension numbers above 208 for a 2X4 card the first card would typically be 209-212 etc,.

How did you default the system?
You can go into program 811 and do that or you could shut off the power switch on the rom card and power down, wait 30 seconds, and power up.
Is this what you did?

Sorry for the delay. I defaulted our in house system via 811, the date changed, it showed cards without cards being installed and extension numbers seemed to be already assigned. I really think I either need to default the one at customer or swap cabinet. They moved a phone for now so I guess it is OK, but I hate leaving something like this out there, just anouther loose end/problem to stay in my mind.....Thanks for helping.

Ah hah, I know exactly what to do.
You turn the power switch off remove the ROM card, and FLIP the switch to OFF. Wait about 30 seconds and turn it back on again.
We have had the original DCS not "forget" everything on 811 and had a customer where everything was screwy. Paige was swapping cards and power supplies from the expansion cabinet and still nothing would come up right.
Power down, remove ROM, turn off data back up switch by the ROM card on the mother board and VIOLA, everything came up perfect.
You have to reprogram but swapping cards and p/s did absolutely NO good. Flipping data memory switch cured everything, no cards replaced, just a totally screwed up memory.
