I'm trying to get our SVMi-16 to talk to our SMTP server and anytime it tries to send either a notification or an entire voicemail to the server I receive the following error: SMTP Open Connect error: (7,0) No Addres for Descriptor.
What is odd, is 10 minutes later when it retries again and fails, the error message DOES go out via SMTP.
I'm stumped. Our SMTP server is an open relay so no user name or password is required. I've tried with or without a domain in system parameters and I've tried with/without a return address in the user mailbox field. Neither has made a difference.
Thanks!

One other note, when I get the error message via email, here is what it says:
SMTP Message 000030AD, Mailbox 000006CA 'Gilbert, Brett' Failed
Reason: SMTP Connect to Server :25 Failed

If I recall properly there may be a conflict between the svmi e series and some network switches. Get with your installer and contact tech support for the list of switch manufacturers that will work with it. Just install a small two or four port switch to your svmi should take care of this. Just dont have the name needed off the top of my head.

I'll try sticking one in, but still that doesn't seem to make sense to me. Telnet works just fine, as well as the error emails, seems like if it works one way it should always work. I've never had telnet issues even when using VPN from outside the local network.

You're a genius...
I missed the mclass configuration. Works like a charm!
