You could also put a single line daughterboard in the phone closest to the fax.

I spent three hours one Sunday helping out someone who had a miswired systems board sent to him and he also turned off the memory battery and reset the programming back to default.

If you must buy a "ready to install" system make sure you have the personal cellphone of the person who is going to help you when you get stuck.

The price of buying a single SLI daughterboard is almost the same price as a 2SLI card.

The fax has to be physically connected to an extra phone line on the bottom of your phone.

The actual phone has to be at least an 18 button phone or larger( not 100% sure on this one) and can’t be like a 8 button phone.

The DLI port which is connected to that particular phone must be one of the DLI ports built into the system (not from a DLI card) in this case.

I think most people end up getting the 2SLI card because of a better price per port however the SLI daughterboard is good for a situation where the room is only wired for 1 phone but you need both a phone and fax..

Thank you all for the valuable information. I wasn't able to convince my boss to purchase 2SLI card. So I ran an extra line to fax and turned on the auto answer. When I get the 2SLI card, I'll need your help again.

Thank you guys!!

Hi, I am a newbie to the Samsung iDCS 100. I currently have the following cards installed and the first digital station on MDF P1 pins 50 & 25 and it is working as extension 201. I have wooked up another Digital station to MDF P1 pins 21 & 46 and it is working on extension 205. I can cal the other extension and it works great. I have 5 Analog phone lines from the phone company that I would like to connect to my iDCS 100 but I am not sure where to connect them to. I had a phone tech come in an reset my system to the factory defaults, I have set the system up or US English ops. The tech said all I need is MDF P1 to finsh connection the rest of the system. My question is how do I tie in the 5 analog lines? four of them are for the phone system and one of them is for the FAX machine. I am a little hesitant, as I read the manual it looks like P1 is for all my digital stations and P2 is for the CO lines which contradicts the tech, unless he was just referring to the rest of the digital stations. would like some confirmation before tiing in those CO lines. Where is my current card config;

SLI1
MEM
Misc1
Slot 1 = 6TRK
Slot 2 = 6TRK
Slot 3 = 8DLI
Expansion option 1;
Slot 4 = Empty
Slot 5 = 8DLI
Slot 6 = 8DKI
SVMi-8

Which MDF port and pins should I connect my POTs lines to? Should I run the Fax line throught the system or run it directly to the FAX? How do a configure the trunk so that a user can dail "9" to grab the next availble CO line?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to Sundance grekos!
