Hello.

I’m having a problem where a majority of the time when I call an extension with no answer, it won’t give an prompt saying “ To page press 3”. Even if I press #3 without the prompt, it will say " sorry that is an invalid entry"

However other times on the exact same situation it will give me the option to page the user by pressing #3. When I press 3, it will work perfectly(but only when they prompt tells me that I can press 3)

This is the worst problem when it sometimes works and sometimes does not work.

Standard Eclass block have both No answer and Busy with all “Y” next to all the different options including the “Overhead page” option.

I would say that 6 out of 7 times it does not work.

Has anyone experienced this strange problem?

Any ideas on something that works sometimes but most of the time does not work?

Do you think corrupt customer database? Should I make a new EClass, Set download to yes and reset VM to rewrite database,etc...? Please let me know what I should try to fix this.

Update:

I have just found out by looking at the port activity that the calls with the option to page are being transfered as " NT" however the calls that do not have the option to page are being transfered as " NS" I think this is why the calls are giving different options. They must be pointing to different areas.

How to I change the area that NT and NS transfer to?

Thanks for your help

The basic problem is that it sometimes the SVMI-8E thinks that an outside call(NT) is a inside call(NS).

Now I understand what the system is doing but I still don't know why it is doing it.

How to I change the NS and NT target name to the same thing? It just brings me to open a general block but I don't see stuff like forward trunk/station listed.

Thanks for your help.

UPDATE:

I have reset my VM card and telling my system to use " DOWNLOAD: YES" which I overwrites some of the information and default a lot of values.

So far, it seem to be working and the outbound calls coming into the system seem to all be coded as a NT call instead of a NS call.

NT(No answer from trunk) vs NS(No answer from a station) I think.

So far so good.

By the way, this might be a question for another post but can you change the settings of a NS(No answer from a station) have the paging option also?

Thanks.

First,an internal user has the option to page the party if there is no answer. When the voicemail answers, press the release key,get new dialtone and press a page button.

Even if the SVMi could page the internal no answer calls I don't think there is a way to "pick" up the call.

Hello.

I am not sure how you would pickup an internal call however you could page to call your extension which is what happens in the office normally.

The problem I'm finding is that the system is taking inbould external calls and treating them as if they were internal calls 50-80% of the time.

I have confirm this by calling in on my cell phone while looking at Port activity screen and seeing my cell phone number sometimes being identified as a " NS" call and sometimes as a "NT" call. HoweverI its working a lot better now that I reset with download set to " YES" . This overwrites a lot of my settings right? Its like restore factory settings?

Let me ask you, in the SVMI Block menu > MODE>Call Code Processor>NS> Forward station.

How can I change the " Fordard station" to "Forward trunk" for target name? ? Is that possible in case I get this problem again?

Thanks.
