I am a certified Comdial tech but I when the Fella I was working for passed away I stopped doing Comdial and Its been about 5 years.
Anyway I had a customer where my daugther went to Elementary school and they were remodeling this summer and when I turn on the PBX it tells me that it is in restricted mode and that the system software needs to be reinstalled. Noone can find any docs that go with the system. I have a back up and i restored it but that didnt help what do I need to do so they can start back to school thursday?


If its not broken then dont fix it.

You'll need to get a Comdial dealer to get the magic number activation code if it is not on site and reload the software bin file for the system to operate...then you can restore your database.

call in to customer service and supply the sn# they should be able the magic number, you will have to reload the system software then reload the database

Endusers cannot do this...only authorized dealers.
