Has anybody herd of either an ADSL or SDSL connection "going to sleep". I have 1 7200 with an SDSL and the other 7200 with ADSL. I cannot make an internal call to the other system unless I hang an ip phone of off each system and ring them. The system will then allow a keyphone to ring another ofn the other system, but only for approx 1min.
Any thoughts?

Its not pppoe is it?
If so then yes. You will need a keep alive setting.
just so we are on the same page. In the states you can have a static IP and still be pppoe.

No it's PPPoA with a single static IP, using a ZyXEL Prestige 792H Router for SDSL & Netgear DG834 for ADSL
5000 - 5002 UDP/TCP to MCP 6000 UDP to MCP 6100 TCP to MCP 9000 UDP to MCP 30000 - 32000 UDP to MGI
There isn't anything else connected to the router just the MCP & MGI cards.
I'm puzzled

Sounds like a router setting. When I've previously set up Zyxel routers there is a setting that needs to be switched on to keep the connection on permanently rather than on-demand.
