ProStar DCS Compact / v2.1
DCS KP40D (Older 24b LCD) Phone

Found this old system in the storage bay and am reviving it to replace a failing nitsuko in a remote office.

Is there a way to prg the keys so as to have the line1 (call1) key to pickup a trunk grp when pressed? (ex. pickup the handset, press line1 to grab a line, dial 9 + number)

There are ways to do this. You can program a trunk group key to pick up a line, you can probably just dial 9 to pick up a trunk or you could set the phones to automaticaly (after a delay if desired) pick up a trunk when they go off hook.Do you know how to program the system at all?

Yes, I have the system programmed and working, this is just a minor thing that they want. I can prg a button for a trunk or trunk grp pickup, but the problem is that in order for the phones to work properly (internally i found out) they have to have at least one CALL button programmed. Which default programming places the line buttons as CALL1, CALL2 etc. Which will not pickup when pressed.

What I did for now is to prg the line1, line2, etc keys as a DT701, DT702, etc and then just programmed an unused key as a call1 so internal calls work properly as well. Eh, it works,

You also need a Call key if you are using a Trunk group key as a way to dial out and don't have DT keys.As long as you got it working the way they want it's all good smile
