Have a old STC Prostar. Added new line#7 No dial tone on 7 or 8. All programming set correctly and stations work on this expansion module. Swapped the 5-6, 7-8 204 modules and problem moved. Site had a newer Samsung Prostar with an expansion module. Installed this newer version into the 7-8 position. The CO's worked fine but the switch didn't like it! Fired up the newer Prostar but it was DOA. So finally the question!! Are there revision differences that would not allow a newer version to work in an older cab or was this board broke?

As I recall the new boards didnt work in older ksus, but the older ones worked in the new.
I think they put out a tech fact on this ,
maybe someone has those old yellow releases around.

I just looked on my shelf and have 1) 2co x 4ext, 2) 2co x 4slt, 1)smdr card, and 1)door phone for the STC Prostar. These were purchased and sat on the shelf for years. I can pull serial numbers if needed. If your interested in cleaning my prostar shelf let me know. I also have a Macrotel 816 switch that came in on trade that is taking up space.

If your cabinet is marked STC Prostar, you have a pre-Samsung version. I pulled out my old Samsung binder and looked thru the tech sheets but nothing was old enough to talk about the transition from STC to Samsung. But as I recall, KENB is right.

The STC exp cards work in the Samsung cabinet but the Samsung cards aren't backwards compatible. I think the STC cards are marked "816H" on the top-left of the component side. If you need to stay with that cabinet, I'd take 1A2DIGITAL's offer. Probably the only other way to get a card that would work would be to find a working expanded STC 816 cabinet and rob the exp card(s). If 1A2DIGITAL's stock isn't STC-compatible, PM me. I think I still have a 2x4 SLT card on the shelf. That should give you the CO's you need but would make the added stations SLT only.
