Looking fwd to the update Dave. I was just out in Phoenix for the Wave training in April, so I will not be going in November.

Hey Dave, just wondering if you have heard anything more about the MBX, I see on Comdial's site they are advertising support for our phone set.
I guess one question I have: Can I network an MBX to an FXII system similar to just adding another network node and be able to call in between our FXIIs and the MBX while utilizing centralized voicemail on the MBX? Is this a function better suite for the Wave IP platform? Is this even possible, seems that it would be but maybe not.

As far as I know, there will be no mechanism to link any Legacy Comdial Systems to MBX or Wave.

Wow, that is unfortunate, we have a significant investment in handsets and Comdial equipment and it's a shame that Vertical can't offer a bit better solution than "rip and replace", I know we can keep our handsets at least but that is still a lot of money to upgrade all of our cabinets. Seems to me they could make a networking card that would allow the FXII to treat the Wave/MBX as a "node" and continue being able to use all the great current features while moving forward with VoIP and centralized voicemail on the MBX/Wave platform.
It almost becomes one of those deal breakers, I might as well buy all generic SIP handsets and just change out the backend to Shoretel, Cisco, etc. rather than buy into another generation of closed/proprietary hardware/software.
Does anyone else see the need for a bit better migration solution or am I just way off base here?

You're off base...I've tied MP5000s to the Wave product similar to the hub/node format we used to. There are tech tips available for such an implementation. The MBX is too new to have a track record yet but it too will support specific legacy sets.

I understand the MBX will support our handsets but I am speaking of the ability to tie our FXIIs to the Wave or MBX line, sounds like it works with an MP5 but can/does it work with an FXII?
