Im trying to reset the voicemail password for a user that has forgotten theirs. I have used hyperterminal to login into the SVMi-20E. I selected "Open Block Table", then I selected "Mailbox", scrolled down to find the mailbox extension and hit enter, and then I go down to "Subscriber password" and I've tried xxxx, 5081 (extension #), and I've also tried typing "Default" in the field. I then hit Ctrl + E and Ctrl + E to get to the main menu. The password never resets no matter what combination of 4 digits I type into the Subscriber password field. What am I doing wrong? Maybe I need to delete the mailbox and re-create it. But I don't know how to do that either...

have U try using VMADM to reset the password. I can be done from any keyset or when you enter the voicemail system from an outside line.

Forget hyperterminal, do this from the voicemail admin as FTT388 states. You should have gotten a one page instruction sheet for voicemail admin proceedures from your dealer. Ask them for one or you can pm me and I'll send you one.

Are we not tech's, users use the admin feature, tech's should pull out there laptops, and as KX-T308 said go to the extn block and default the password. Why even have a password at all when on site, auto logon should be set to yes.

We are Tech's Ryan is not. Use the admin feature and change it in there. Option 2 and reset it, its fast and you dont need to fire up the laptop. That is why that feature exists.

Thanks for your help guys. I tried the instructions WRichey PMed me and resetting the password on the extension block in hyperterminal also worked.

Your best bet is to start a new thread here not resurrect a 10 year old one.
Let's assume that you have the system admin password ,you can easily reset it from a phone accessing the admin mailbox. Maybe some more information like what voicemail you are working on would also help.The more information you give the better.

I am remote to the site so want to reset the password using the office serv software. I have V4.98
What is the process to reset the voice mail password via the software? I have the password for this.
