os 7100 , TRYING TO GET THE VM TO answer, the way I see it, I put the VM ports into a group (505), then put the group no. in as a member,but not much luck. 4 port system , but I can only put in 3 port nos. 4th one says "invalid data" . Do I use "next port" or what? PM with answer.

It could be one of 3 things that I can thing of
1 Check the license keys to make sure you have some. (In Australia the Default is 2 VM ports you need a license key to activate the other 2)
2 Check that the group is set to SVMi group but you shouldn't even need to do this as 519 is the voicemail group by default.
3 Check if ports are busy they may be lock out

As oztt said, 519 is default bi-vms group with 301-304 your vm ports. Check your number plan if 'invalid data' is showing.

as a test, dial each of the 4 vm ports directly.. 301 to 304.
the voicemail ports need to be in group 519 by default.
dial 519 to test the group.
then have all lines ring group 519 during your specified ring plan.
