We received a new 7100 kit with the media card saying "Programmed in America" and guess what, that was not true. It had a label and was totally empty.

Normally we burn in a system for a day before we take it to a customer site but we sold this at 10 AM and it had to be installed at 5 PM and it was already a busy day so we ignored the wisdom of 23 years of testing first and delivering second.

Thankfully, with very friendly after hours tech support by the Samsung distributor, we were able to obtain the software over the web and the system was up and running and programmed as we left at 8:45.

Yes, I am a Mac person, but the PC savvy customer put the media card in their card reader in their computer and it was BLANK. A zip file from the distributor was unzipped and 11 files were copied to the media card and shabam, the MC light which had never flashed on start up now flickered like a Christmas tree bulb on a defective extension cord.

Twenty three years ago I learned to burn in a system for a day before the customer ever saw the box and Murphy's law prevails, the first time you take a shortcut because you are short on time, you will find the time to fix what you should have tested.

hehe bet those were a few fun hours. Never had that but i've always got the latest and a known version of software on my lappy.

You guys over there not get access to the tech web site?

Just for an FYI, the file format must be FAT not FAT32, so if you ever have to format one, make sure you do it properly.

Thanks for that heads up. We'll copy the next MP10 to our office server software save DB.

We noticed the MP10 is not a 'normal' SD card, the metal tabs are arranged differently. Is this to stop people from just making their own MP10 cards? Not sure why, since they come standard with every ksu, right? Might just buy an MP10 card to carry as a spare also.

Since Samsung fixed the volume problems with the 'a' software, we are big fans of the 7100. One of the best little systems ever offered imo.

Sorry to hear you had problems with your MC. We have had problems too, the last lot of MC's came out with version 4.09 but one of the files on the MC was version 4.04, needless to say it caused a few problems and the system did not start up correctly.
