I have installed an ICDS100R1 with 24 stations, and a svmi4. I am having trouble with the VM. I can connect with hyperterminal, I have configured 8 Vm boxes, I have set up my group 519 with two ports, 225 and 226, My problem is the svmi4 does not answer, it appears not to be there.Have I missed a step? any help would be very much appreciated.

That is one thing I did not try, I assume you are talking about a station, ie; 201 I will try tomorrow. I thought I would be able to call the vm and get a message such as enter password. all I get is a short ring and dead air. Thanks

And when that happens what does it say on the display of the telephone you're calling the SVMi from?

when you press the VM button you get 519 ringing on the display, if you press 225 or 226 you get 225 ringing etc.

Was this a working system before including the voicemail? Is this a SVMi you're adding to an existing system? If your display shows 519 ringing and doesn't go beyond that then the SVMi is not answering the call.

This was a working system I took in trade, I defaulted it and added the vm. All the customer wants is a few vm boxes in the office. I installed the card at the time of default. Is ther a step in hyperterminal I need to do. The system created the boxes on power up exactly where I programmed them to. Is it possible that the ports 225 and 226 are not where the svmi is, Is there a way to be sure where the sytem configured them.

Your sure this is a 2 port VM? What slot is it in? MMC724 is where you want to be to assign stations to slots.
Have you tried to properly reset the VM?

If it's only 2 ports then there is your problem. The SVMi must be expanded to 4 ports to work in anything beyond the DCS Compact.
