Customer reports some of their phones will start ringing and not stop. They clear the ringing only by unplugging the set. They describe the ringing the set does as more of a short blip than an actual ring.
I cannot get the sets to duplicate the issue. The problem has occured on sets on either 8DLI's or on the KSU so it's not a card issue.
Anyone else experience something like this and have a possible explanation/resolution?

From the description of the ring it MAY be coming from an internal extension. I would tell them to make a note of what the ringing phone's display says before they unplug it. At least you will be able to see where the call's coming from and go from there.

If it was coming from an internal phone and you answered it it would stop ringing. Plus it would be a double ring which should be pretty easy to distinguish. Yes the display is your best bet at this point and see what it says when it happens.Does it affect different phones at different times or all at the same time?(like a station group)

According to the customer, the phone displays date and time (idle format). It is affecting different sets at different times. No real pattern I can determine.

Had an iDCS 100 with a TEPRI card that started doing that, randomly ringing extensions with no clues on the ringing phone display. Replacing SPLL board resolved it.

SPLL might fix it but if they have a T-1 I have seen the Vina routers/channel banks that had to have a setting turned down. It heats up the line beyond Samsungs ring voltage threshhold and causes a ghost ring.
