Never having to work on a Samsung before, I was called to a site with an Office Server 7100. The customer is switching CO providers. There are 8 pots lines and these have to be changed out. I followed the cables and it seems easy enough but I am replacing a previous tech who packed up his equipment and left the site. Is there something about this switch that I need to know?

Nothing stands out in my mind. Just make sure you are reconnecting the lines in the same hunt order they are set to now.

Thanks WRichey, One other question. There are a series of LED's on the back. Reading from left to right, they are in groups of 3 or 4 and the first two sets are green and the last set is red. Does that mean anything? How do you program on that switch? Through a laptop?

I must be confused. The only lights on the back are power related and they should both be green.
On the front You have the MP10 or MP10a and one should flicker green the rest solid green.
Depending on if you have uni cards or different style 7000 series cards. You will have various lights. From you description you are using uni cards and the color of the leds will depent on the daughter card (MD1, MD2 and MD3). Green for trunk card red for DLI card and amber for SLI card.
Hope that helps

The colors fit the description exactly. I also found out why the tech left. The Customer does have one IP phone and the new provider is giving the customer new static IP addresses. Unfortunately, only the original installer knows the passwords.

Can you contact the old installer? if not then you will have to request the reset from samsung. It will have to be on the companies letter head.
At worst you can default the system and start from scratch. There may be some issues though. You might need the license keys to be able to set up the mgi's
