HI! i need a simple way for my customer to transfer calls to the smaller 2nd office , i thought of changing a couple of lines to centrex with flash and speed dial , but i'm thinking there may be a better way , I can get a good deal on A MEDIATRIX 1104 4 port FXO gateway for main building and put a 2nd MEDIATRIX 2102 FXS at at smaller site thru a VPN ; IS this an reliable efficient alternative?? And will they both be able to transfer calls ?? This is for occasional calls not really heavy traffic. I don't want to upgade the other system to network both systems as of yet. Both sites do have SVMI 4/E. Thanks

I haven't worked with the Mediatrix units, but why not upgrade and use SPNet? In the past we have used Multitech VoIP units and the customers have never been satisfied with the call quality. I've yet to have any problems doing SPNet.

HI! Marc ,They don't have the funds to spend that much as of this year, With your multitech voip setup why could you not get have decent voice quality?? Is it because of the limited bandwith and what codec was used?? They should have enough bandwidth for what i'm trying to do. There are so many different units i haven't tried any of them yet.I don't want an opx either , the 2nd building is only about 1500 ft away on another street. I may get a couple of lines changed to centrex if this dosen't work.

CIT, What MultiTech units did you use. i am involved with a project with their 410 units. I have sone some testing and the quality is real good. I am using the 729 codec and H.323 off of a 500R2.

I'll check later today when I'm in the office. I know they are older units... 3-4 years old... and in addition to the quality, they hated the process.

I didn't setup the system, so I don't know if there is any easier way. If site one wanted to talk to site two... they had to pick up a phone, ring group 505, wait for the multitech to answer, get dial tone from the far end, then enter the station number for the far end.

The newer units allow point to point dialing, and I have 4 digit dialing from a 500 and 100 to all 410's.
Hopefully, I will have it completed this summer for 11 sites.

They were the older model MVP210 with a DOM dated 2005.12.22.
