I've got a bit of a problem here. I'm just a normal PC tech, and while I was helping a customer move their equipment from one location to a new one I unplugged their IDCS 100 from their UPS. Now the lines are all staticy, and the phones don't seem to be programmed to the right lines.
I can punch in the correct line # (701, 702, 703) and get an outside line, but the static is still horrible.
Basically I need to know how to reprogram the phones and get rid of the static. I've downloaded the manuals for both the system and the phones (IDCS 28D), but I figured the more resources I can draw on the better.
I didn't see a search function on the forums so if this has already been addressed I'm sorry.

Welcome to Sundance Tech-Talk. That's not static, the "buzzing" dial tone tells me the system is now in the default mode. Where is the phone vendor and why did he not move the system? This is a bit more complex that you might think. The open forum is for user type questions and user programming. You can contact any admin or mod via PM for remote help. If you have the manuals start with setting the country code. It sounds like you have all your x-conns correct so a little remote help with programming should get you going. :thumb:

Thanks for the reply.
The phone system is staying at the old location for whoever buys the property, so no phone vendor.
I'll see what I can find from the manual about setting the country code, and hopefully it has instructions on how to interface...
Downloaded Officeserv Manager hoping it would be some help, but when I looked at the box I couldn't find anyway to link up besides trying a phone line for dial-up. It keeps trying to connect to 1.1.1.1 for TCP/IP, and I didn't see any kind of ethernet jack.
Again, I appreciate the helpful reply. At least I've got a starting point.

I would set this up using a phone to program and not OSM. Connection to the system for programming depends on which release you have you may not have an ethernet jack. You could get all the programming completed via the phone before you get set up with your PC.

I know several dealers in your area. Would you like one to assist you in fixing this issue? Did you need some end user help or are you just wanting to play around in the system? Since there are no users in the immediate future I would just pass this off to the new customer and let them know they need an installer to finish it out for them. Or are you the new customers "pc" guy too?
The search feature is just below the "post a topic" icon on the upper right side of this page.

Hi,
Im in exactly the same situation, except everything between the two sites were working till we had a power outage on one of the sites and it wiped out all the memory and programming settings for that office. We have OfficeServ 100 with a mixture of DS5000 and ITP phones. I have been playing around in the system and have enough knowladge to network ITP phones and would like to know more about it. Do you know anyone local that can help me put everything back together?
Cheers and glad I found this website.

I cant understand what makes a phone network so different from computer network. One is used to transmit data and the other is for voice. Im up to scratch with any type of network but this one is taking time to get my head around. Is the learning curve too steep? I think I've seen someone mention Samsung's online courses.
